What's A Quiver Anyway?

So let's play some quiveropoly. I want to hear your views on what a quiver is. Take your time to really think this through, and I challenge each of you to use your Bible. This could be fun.

*What does the Word say about our womb? Is it ours? Is it the Lords to do with as He wishes?

*How many quivers are we to have anyway, I mean if a quiver is 5, do we have 5, or 5x70x7? Wait, that's the equation for forgiving...anyway...

*Is God's ultimate will for us to let Him choose the number of children we are to have?

*Just because we are lacking sleep and sanity, is that enough reason to close our own womb, or is God using our trials in child-rearing to build our character (and keep us busy at home you Titus 2 Woman You?!?!)

Let's stir the pot (in a loving way please...be gracious and non-judgemental or I'll have your BLOG!)

Get goin' gals...

I believe that there is nothing you can do to stop the Lord from giving you more children. I also believe that He gives you the desires of your heart (sometimes) and He knows what is best for you.

So, all of that to say, you can have surgery to keep you from getting pregnant, but we have all heard those stories of pregnancy that happens anyway. You can have organs removed, or not even have sex, and God can plant two babies on your doorstep that need a home...and guess what? He chose you. You wouldn't say no, right?

But here is what kills me...people think that when they are "trying" to get pregnant, that they are in control. I have gotten pregnant on the pill or when we only had sex one time during the month...and there have been times when we tried and it took a year!

So here is my answer to the quiver dilemma...Couples may choose when to make love, but God chooses when to make life. Simple as that.

Oh, and as far as when is enough enough? Well, I have not met people who regret the children they have, only those who regret having "cut off" their options. One friend even said that she regretted the surgery she had to be fixed because she did it out of fear...that there wouldn't be enough money, etc. She now says it was a lack of faith on her part.

I also say that God has already predetermined the size of your family...and he knows if you are going to take drastic measures...so there are no surprises and there is no power taken from Him.

Anyone agree?

Can I post on my own blog??? I totally agree. I love the saying, Couples may choose when to make love, but God chooses when to make life. I scratch my head at the statement, "He gives us a brain to make wise choices." Who is wiser than He? Just a thought...

I have a lot of views on this issue being that we have been on both sides of the fence! We had a vasectomy reversal in February and are praying for God to bless our family soon with baby number 4. We believe with all our hearts that God does choose to give you children not that you choose to have them when and how you want. With saying that I will say that we took our fertility into our own hands at a time when I was overwhelmed and thought I could never handle any more. This was wrong, this was not Gods plan for our family, this caused me a whole lot of heart ache and my husband a lot of physical pain from the reversal surgery. The Bible tells us that Children are a gift from the Lord and I believe that when we choose to have our tubes tied or a vasectomy we tell God we don't want your gift... So most people who choose this never have more children. But the few who do become pregnant anyway, always seem happy. We prayed for a long time for God to intervene in our mistake and bless us with a child. But God did not heal us, he lead us to a wonderful Christian Doctor in Tx who preformed the reversal. We have learned a lot about saving money (reversals cost a lot!) we have learned a lot about how God wants to use us in Ministry and so many more things. We feel now that we are doing things God way not our way, and know he will bless us as we follow him!
I don't think I have ever meet one woman who years later that was still happy with the decision to have a vasectomy...
